my visited Formula 1 races
1994 Jos SPA-Francorchamps BELGIUM
after Jos Verstappen joined the Formula1, I definitely wanted to see him driving live at the circuit. With 8 friends we drove to Spa is a rented van. We stayed the weekend next to the circuit on the "campsite"; no water, no toilets. Jos joined the Mild Seven Benetton Ford V8 F1 team with as team mate Michael Schumacher. On our way back home on Sunday afternoon/ evening, we stopped at Jos' fathers cafe De Rotonde.
during my pracical period for mechanical engineering I worked 3 months in JRC Ispra, Italy. Nice opportunity to visit the Formula1 of Monza with some other students. I visited the race on Sunday. Great Italian atmosfere expecially when the 2 Ferrari's of Berger and Alesi were driving 1 and 2.

My first visit to Silverstone. With 9 friends we drove to Silverstone is a rented mini-bus. We arrived Wednesday evening at the camp sit enext to the circuit. On Thursday we walked around the circuit and saw activity in the pit boxes. Friday we supported Jos Verstappen by watching the training sesions at CLUB-corner in the morning and BECKETS in the afternoon. Saturday from 8AM we were sitting close to CLUB-corner again watching training and qualifying.
In the evening after a shower and some food&drinks, three of us went to the South entrance with our air matrasses to stay the night in the cue at the entrance. After a little sleep, the entrance was opend at 5AM and the approx. 10.000 in the cue were looking for a nice spot. We saw Patrick Huisman winning the Porche Supercup race and in the afternoon a fantastic Formula 1 race. Jacques Villeneuve won the race in his Williams Renault. We drove home on Monday.

My first year not camping and only seeing the race on Sunday. A friend in England gave me and my girlfriend the opportunity to join seats at the grandstand 'PITSSTRAIGHT'. After a busy arrival by car at Silverstone, we found our numbered and covered seats at the grandstand. Lucky us because it was raining. After the RED ARROWS display, the Forluma 1 cars drove to the grid. Jos Verstappen in his Steward Ford had his start position just in front of us.
It was a wet race. Michael Schumacher won the race in his Benneton.

Pole position: David Coulthard - West McLaren Mercedes
19) Jos Verstappen - Arrows Asiatech
Race winner: Michael Schumacher - Scuderia Ferrari
8) Jos Verstappen - Arrows Asiatech
Einde van de Formule1 op Monaco! Erg speciaal.......
On our way to Hungary! Thijs and myself drove up to Budapest for a full weekend of Formula 1. Nice spot on the campsite next to the circuit. Busy weekend walking around, viewing all spots of the circuit and finally ending early Sunday morning bext to the grid on the straight of the circuit. We spotted the Dutch drivers Doornbos and Albers, although still wearing our Alonso caps.
Pole position: Michael Schumacher - Ferrari
17) Christijan Albers - Minardi-Cosworth - 19) Robert Doornbos - Minardi-Cosworth
Race winner: Kimi Raikonen - McLaren-Mercedes
Ret (lap 29) Robert Doornbos - Minardi-Cosworth - Ret (lap 59) Christijan Albers - Minardi-Cosworth

Second visit to Forlula 1 in Barcelona, again with Thijs. We drove in the night, so quite tired we joined the Thursday pit Walk. Staying at the campsite again nex to the circuit. After training on Friday and Saturday we travveled by train to Barcelona to see the sity and enjoy tapas in Irati. We were dressed like Alonso fans, and were seated in the grass in the middle of all Alonso fans. And in the end Fernando Alonso won the race!!
Thijs, Bas and myself on our way to Barcelona. An early flight in the morning, Pre-season testing on the circuit and in the evening a visit to Barcelona city centre. After a sleep our 2nd day at the circuit and our flight back home in the evening. Max Verstappen driving in the Torro Rosso still, but that will change quickly in a few months.....
Max Verstappen is driving in the Red Bull Racing car since Barcelona (which he won!!), so needed to see him driving. With Wouter I booked an organized bus/ticket to Spa-Francorchamps. Travelling to Spa by car already takes a lot of time, but with a touring car it took even more time. We left at 04:00h in the East if The Netherlands, bu tneeded to wait first 1 hour for the sandwiches, then a 45 minutes stop mid-way and after some heavy traffic we were happy to see the Drivers Parade at 12:30h. Max started the race 2nd, but touched with Raikkonen in the first corner and damaged his front wing. Finally he ended 11th. After the race we walked over the track to the pit lane. We saw Mercedes celebrating their fictory and Rosberg showed his trophy to the crowd.
With Bas and William, I enjoyed the 2017 pre-season testing in Barcelona. Especcially the second day was special, because Max Verstappen was driving lot's of laps. All the teams were driving lot's of laps.
The evening in between of our 2 days at the circuit was also special. Well prepared, we booked tickets for the Champions League 1/8 Final Barcelona - PAris Saint-Germain. After a 4-0 loss away, Barcelona won at home 6-1. What a huge event!!!
On my way to USA I made a 1,5 day stop in Montreal to see the race on Sunday. Saturday evening I visited Montreal city centre. A huge party of many international Formula 1 race fans. Sunday morning early to the circuit. I had numbered grandstand tickets, so could walk around (inside) the circuit to see all corners and the pit straight. It was hot! very hot! before the Formula 1 cars there was a demonstration of 1980's Forlula 1 cars. FANTASTIC SOUND!!! The race didn't realy went well for Max, but I enjoyed the reace in between on many international Formula 1 fans.
First visit to Redbullring in Spielberg. Arriving at the circuit on Thursday evening with Thijs. Staying on the campsite next to the circuit, general admission tickets with a wonderfull view over half the circuit. Very hot weather with thunderstorm on Sunday evening. Great O3 popconcert on Saturday evening. Great event, good views to the circuit everywhere.
Second visit to Redbullring with Thijs. This time FULL Max Verstappen with a full weekend stay at the Verstappen Village and a seat on the Verstappen grandstand. The famous one in full orange. great wekend and Max Verstappen won the race. Fantastic to see his victory live on the circuit with the most important overtake over Raikkonen just in front of us.
Travelling in the Middle East and India these weeks, the weekend I spent in Abu Dhabi for the Formula 1 race. Wonderfull weather, wonderfull seat at the grandstand, switching tickets for Free Practice 2 to enjoy Abu Dhabi Hill during sun set. very well organised food&drinks areas, meeting MAX in person to have my cap signed. Great race with a nice overtake of Max.
visiting the full weekend of Monace Formula 1 was relaxed. A nice view from 2 grandstands on Thursday. Expierience Monaco city on Friday. Saturday watching the free training and the qualifying of course. Sunday was an early start for good seats on the rockswith to see the Monaco F1 race live including pit stops as the stop of Max Verstappen where he got a panalty for of 5 second.
after almost 30 Formula 1 visits, this one was still missing on my list. Sunday was out-of-budget after Monaco and Monza this year. So I did a Saturday, 1-day, visit with Wouter. We arrived early at the circuit so had all the ime to see the Fanzone inclusive the James Bond car collection. Free practice 3 was not that spectaculair as the cars had almost the same conditions as the Friday training sessions. The qualification was exiting! Both Ferrari's had technical problems and Max showed good compatitive lap times. At the end he splitted the 2 Mercedes cars, so a front row position for Max. After a drink we left the circuit from the car park. In only 10 minutes we were driving on the motorway. Well organized!
A Friday at the circuit.
After an approx. 4 hours car-drive we arrived at the parking near the circuit. The walk to the circuit included a visit to the Max Verastappen Fan-Shop. With a signed new cap we arrived at the circuit. This Friday-only visit included very nice GOLD 3 Eau Rouge.
What an excellent view, 2x 1,5 hours, on the most famous corner of the Formula1 calender.
visiting the full weekend of Monza with Bas. Driving by car 10 hours to our appartment on Thursday with a PIZZA for dinner just after arriving in Italy. Friday by train to Monza. Free seating on Friday, so we had a nice view from the main grandstand opposit of the pitlane. Evening dinner again PIZZA, good sleep in our apartment and in the morning the breakfast was served. Saturday we had a great walk inside the circuit. Great spectators aera with the fantastic BOND CAR collection. After a nice saturday evening, relaxing in our appartment with take away PIZZA, on our way again by train to the circuit on Sunday morning. Another station on Sunday, so we had a nice half hour walk with an Italian guy explaining about the house where Berluscioni is living. The day at the circuit with all the races we were watching from the Dutch Grandstand. After the race we went onto the track to the startlane. Busy overthere!!. Walking back to th exit, we passed the VIP erea. Nice moment to make a selfy with ZIGGO commentator and the famous JAcky Steward!. Driving home on Monday, we saw lot's of Formula1 trucks driving back to the factories in UK.
Aftwer one year pof no Formula 1 vists because of Covid19, it was possible again!
Thirth visit to the Redbullring with Thijs. Camping at Pink Premium was perfect, the weather was perfect, the atmosfere of being in between of so many fans again was great.... and the racing was great! Grandstand Mitte is always guarantee of seeing real racing just in front of you. Overtaking actions, cars going to wide and driving into the gravel and of course the 20.000 Dutch fans at the circuit. Seeing Dutch Max Verstappen winning again with all his fans around the circuit was great. Fantastic to see all other cars competing with eachother, great to see Lando Norris doing a good job on Sunday.
Visiting race-Sunday only this time. After no race-Sunday at Zandvoort last week, I booked a last minute ticket at the grandstand opposite of the Mercedes and Red Bull pit-box. Driving to Italy on Saturday and staying in a nice and friedly B&B. Pizza at night and an early sleep. In the morning a few coffee's with Briosch. Earlt arrival at the circuit. A nice walk from the Lesmo entrance to the fan-zone. Passing the parking area of all the approx 200-300 team and F1 trucks. First watching the F2 race from the main grandstand near first start positions. Enjoying the sunshine also. After this I joined the fans at the spot where the F1 drivers and vips are entering the circuit. I saw Giovinazzi, Latiffi, Perez, Sainz and Leclerc entering the circuit. 'boxed' with Carlos Sainz.
Then going to my own spot at grandstand 26C. Sitting opposit of the Mercedes and Red Bull pit-box. And opposit of the ceremony podium. Enjoyed the Porche Supercup with the race and world champion winner Dutchman Larry ten Voorde. The drivers parade of the Formula 1 drivers is always nice to see with the interviews. The 2 trucks were joined by an extra truck with all Italian Olympic Golg medal winners.
Pitlane open and many team members are preparing to receive the cars on the grid. Nice to see the cars arriving at the grid from my spot on the grandstand. Ricciardo is taking the lead before Verstappen and Norris. After a to-long pitstop of Verstappen, the pitstop of Hamilton is better. Side-by-side the two are trying the first/second corner and that goes wrong. both are out. From that moment the two McLarens drive and keep 1+2.
After the finish I can enjoy live the podium ceremony. Always party with Ricciardo on the podium. Entering the track is not allowed this year. Waiting on the grandstand untill the team photo of the McLaren team also not.
Nice walk back to the entrance and a 1 hour car drive to the 2nd B&B near Como. With a stop in the middle for a pizza. Driving home at Monday.
